The Snow Goose

2016-2018

THE SNOWGOOSE 2016/2018
( waiting for the snow goose to return )
inspired by Paul Gallico’s small book: The Snow Goose ( 1940 / 41 )
inspired by Camel’s music album with the same title: The Snow Goose ( 1975 )

• The Snowgoose;
the long waiting, a strong loner’s being,
transformed into a monumental perspective.
At the same time the work fits in a series of works
in which Atelier Dré Wapenaar is relating it’s work with design; the cliché idea of a triangular shaped tent transformed into a monumental sculpture.

Between Design and Sculpture.
• This work fits in a series of other works:
- TheTreetent ( 1998 ) - The Camptent ( 2009 )
- Walltent no.1 ( 2015 ) - The Familytent ( 1994 )
- the 2x1 Single-tent ( 1995 ) - The Winterbivouac ( 1996 ) - Bivouac for the Dead ( 2002 )

• Design and construction: Dré Wapenaar • Galvanized Steel frame: Atelier / Studio Dré Wapenaar • Wooden Floor • Production canvas work: Atelier / Studio Dré Wapenaar • Size : W 3 meter x D 5 meter x H 3 meter. • White / Cream colored canvas: Ten Cate Campshield ( M1 quality )
